The day What Now came to visit.

When I woke up this morning it was a lovely and we had lots of visitors when we got to school. It was really exciting and fun. This day so far has been totally amazing!

Lexi (6)

The visitors were What Now. Gem picked me up for a hug.

Ella (5)

They were Charlie, Gem, Johnson and Sam the cameraman.

Taylah (7)

We were doing alphabetical order when they arrived. I was telling Gem about my kittens. We are holding them. She liked Anakin.
Nicky (7)

We were making sensory bottles and I enjoyed having Gem help me. She's my friend.

Amber-Rose (8)

I was excited because they came.

Toby (8)

I felt surprised when What Now came.

Seth (8)

I was playing with them and I was happy.

Bradley (5)

I was excited for them coming.

Taylor (6)

I felt like I needed to faint because I didn't know they were coming. It was surprising. It was quite awesome.

Nathan (7)

I hugged Gem.

Kendal (5)

When they arrived I thought "Hurray, I'm going to be on TV! I'm going to be famous."

Matt (10)

I felt nervous because I don't really like being on TV that much..

Samara (8)

I thought this is wicked because everyone's going to see me do my cartwheel thing. Charlie tried but he fell over. I showed Charlie how to do an alphabet thing but he kept writing in silly answers so I won the race.

Thomas (8)

I liked that they played tag with us.

Ollie (5)

I liked that they watched us make our bottles.

Caitlyn (7)

Charlie helped me put glitter in my bottle.

Chloe (5)

It was fun having Charlie reading Pigs Might Fly in my house. He read it really fast.

Alex (9)

I liked giving Charlie a hi five and Gem a hug.

Summer (4)

When we go back to school it will be really cool to tell my friends about Charlie, Gem and Johnson coming to visit.

Beth (7)

The presenters were fantastic with the children, so interested and fun.

Rebecca (parent)

It was cool to see the presenters helping the kids and playing with them.

Kate (parent)

Great to see the What Now presenters having so much fun with the kids.

Jane (parent)

It was lovely to see the delight on our children's faces when Gem, Charlie and Johnson walked in. Great to see them smiling.

Ange (parent)

It was really good for the kids to have the presenters here and they really ennjoyed their time. A highlight of home school.

Alison(parent)

It was great for our children to have something so positive come out what has been, for many, a traumatic experience. Home schooling has provided a bright spot in the day for both parents and kids, and the experience today with the visit from the What Now team has been the icing on the cake for our families.

Kym and Sharon (teachers and parents)

Biscuits and Another Visitor

Today at homeschool we started the day with a visitor! Mrs Bourke came to say hello and see what everyone has been up to at Super Seagulls School of Success. The kids all loved sharing what they have been up to and what they have learnt and Circle Time was much more fun with Mrs Bourke.

Today saw us getting straight into routine. Upstairs (aka Learning Team 1) started with some maths, basic facts, skip counting and 2x timetables. Wow, were they impressive!

Alison soon came and collected some helpers for food prep. Today they decorated biscuits. They looked so yummy and they must have been because I didn't get any!

Tomorrow is our last day at our wonderful wee school. We are going to finish up with a bit of a party and a bbq. We might even get another visitor or two . . . who knows?

The Earthquake

When the earthquake happened there were lots of cars sunk in the water.
The road was covered in dirty water.
It made me feel sad. Lots of people died. Lots of people were crying at school. I was happy to see my Mum and Dad when they picked us up.
Christchurch doesn't look the same, it looks broken.

Earthquake

When the earthquake happened the earth shook.
The liquefaction was brown. It was on the road. It came up from the ground. The bumps came up at our school.
My favourite toy, Gogo Dog got broken. It was sad.
Many people died. It was very, very sad.

Earthquake Damage

Tuesday 22nd February there was an earthquake in Christchurch.
I was sad and scared at school.
In the city the building where my aunty works fell down. Houses fell down on cars and chimneys fell through roofs.
Roads are blocked.

Earthquake

On  February 22nd at 12:51pm a 6.3 earthquake shook Christchurch.
On the road there were wide cracks. There were also big holes on the path in front of somebody's house.
The bricks fell off a house. Rocks fell on cars.
Everything looked bad.
